Mineral sector governance

On behalf of governments and development agencies, SGAB implements large integrated projects for strengthening and restructuring the mining sector in countries in which the mineral potential is not well utilized, or where mineral sector performance improvements are required. Typical assignments include strategic mineral sector assessments; policy, legal and institutional analysis; institutional capacity development; ASM studies, and; mineral sector promotion.

Sustainability management

SGAB provides assistance for improved environmental and social sustainability management, countrywide, regionally and locally. We implement strategic environmental and social and assessments, large-scale impact studies, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks for governments and development partners. On behalf of mineral exploration and mining companies, we undertake social and environmental impact studies.

Geoscientific services

SGAB’s expertise in geoscience is built upon a long tradition and wide experience in geoscientific investigations. Services are provided to the public and private sector as well as development partners. Our activities include fieldwork, data collection, analysis and interpretation, applying advanced mapping, database and GIS technologies. Countrywide geological and mineral potential assessments commonly form part of mineral sector governance assignments.
